For my visual communication class, Designing Media for Social Change, I created a zine that explores the intersection of mental health and gendered violence on college campuses. The primary purpose of the zine is to promote a space for healing among college-aged women and men affected by sexual violence.
“LISTEN” offers a community for survivors to share their thoughts, stories, and artwork. Sexual assault and harassment work insidiously to render victims voiceless and to control their sense of self and daily lives. In this zine, I explore how to disrupt this cycle. Victims have an outlet to express their grief and pain—through writing and art.
